Hey, Y’all! We hope you’ve had a great start to the New Year! Caprock Cruisers is looking forward to a year full of new adventures and interesting cruises. Please join us as we take time to enjoy all our area has to offer, as well as taking a peek at some of the fun stuff offered by other clubs too!
Later this month, we will not only be having our regular meeting, but we will be embarking on a Gorilla Cruise! See all the details on our website. Speaking of our website, it has been updated to include not only these meeting minutes, but a new user friendly CALENDAR that will be frequently updated to include upcoming cruises and events of our club. Also, when you visit it website, cruise on over to the photo section, click “Ouchies” and see a new entry to the PT Cruiser Hall of Shame. It seems a Longhorn Cruisers member has had to say farewell to her PT, and wrote an obituary for it. Luckily, she wasn’t hurt badly in the accident, and will move drive another day. If you have any photos to share of any of your PT fender benders, please send them to us and we’ll post them.
Now, we have an opportunity to test run a mini-event. Big D Cruisers has expressed an interest in coming back up to the Panhandle and visiting us, wanting an outing to Palo Duro Canyon and chance to see TEXAS, sometime in June. We were thinking of somewhere along the lines of the weekend of the 23rd or the weekend of the 30th. We could take the Saturday and show our guests around town, and then take them to the Canyon for a tour before the BBQ dinner and Show. Do either of those weekends work for y’all? We need to get this date down, so maybe we can get our tickets reserved at a group rate, as well as contacting a hotel to see about a group rate for the PTs who would like to come. Please keep this in mind, we will be discussing it at the regular meeting on the 13th. It would be a good way to get our feet wet in organizing a fun get together, in case we want to hold a larger event in the future.
We would like to thank again the Amarillo Wildlife Refuge for hosting a wonderful dinner and providing a place to have our Christmas Party. We’d also like to thank them for letting us visit with Walter and Rosa!
We have many in our group who need our prayers, as they have had accidents or have been ill. If you can, guys, drop us a line and give us a progress report!
We will be updating our membership roster to hand out at the next meeting. If you need any changes made to your entry, please e-mail April by the 7th of January to let her know.
Annual dues are due at the next meeting as well, $25 per family.
Thank you, and Happy Cruising!
